My Road Trip Essentials

Hey guys!

Today is not going to be a craft tutorial but I wanted to do a post on my road trip essentials . My family is going on a last minute road trip this weekend and I thought this would be a fun thing to do! We are actually on the road as you read this!

I do want to give you guys a heads up that this post does contain affiliate links. By using these links you are helping to support my blog so I can continue to share with you.

  • The first and most important thing that I always have to have in my car is my Halo Bolt. It is a portable charger, light, and most importantly, can be used to jump your car if your battery dies. No more having to call AAA or asking a stranger if they can help you jump your car. And best of all it is easy to store under your seat. It comes with the Halo Bolt, the charging cord and the jumper cables you just plug into the Bolt and attach to your car. This has saved me more then once on road trips. You can even plug AC wall plugs into it. So you can use it to charge your laptop on the go.
  • Of course with everything going on in the world right now the next most important thing is my mask. I don’t want to forget that or I won’t be able to do anything right now! Thankfully I keep a couple of extras in the car at all times in case I forget.
  • I need my phone. I can’t go anywhere without it. It helps me pass the time during long car rides.
  • I always have my Kindle in my purse. I love the feel of real books in my hand but it’s so much easier to just grab my kindle and have a bunch of books at my fingertips. Right now I am rereading the Artemis Fowl series. I have all of them downloaded and ready to read.
  • Cords and Chargers are always a must have in the car if you have any electronics. Between me and my mom we need a car charger with multiple ports.
  • My GoPro. I just got this but I already know it needs to be on every road trip I go on from now on. I have a GoPro Hero 3 which is an older model but it works great and can connect to my phone which is amazing.
  • Drinks and Snacks. Our road trip policy is to make one stop for everything. So we stop when we need gas and get food and bathroom breaks all at that time. So if we want a snack or drink on the road we need to bring it with us. This trip we probably won’t need this as much because we are only doing a 5-6 hour drive but when we do the 16-18 hour drive to Disney this is definitely needed.
  • My headphones. I don’t normally use them that much on the drive but I like to have them just in case.
  • A travel blanket. Depending on the time of year I bring a blanket with me because with other people in the car for a long period of time it’s easier to not argue about the temperature of the car. Someone is always going too be to hot or too cold. That’s just how it is.
  • A journal. I love writing so I love having something to jot down idea in while I’m away from my computer. I have a faux leather bound Harry Potter journal that fits in my mini backpack purse so it’s easy to keep in my possession.
  • If I’m traveling with my nieces I need to have activities for them to do so they don’t get bored. Anything from coloring books and crayons to small games to play with them. You always want to keep the kids entertained so you don’t hear ‘Are we there yet’ a million times.

What are some things you need to bring on a road trip? What can you live without on the drive? Let me know in the comments!
